Hello Mulberry House families.

We are nearing the end of the first half term of the school year and we have all had an amazing time with the children. Last week the Penguins were learning about emotions. They painted emotion monsters, matched emotion faces on Legos and used playdough on face mats to copy different emotions. Meanwhile the Elephant Class learned about food. They did some sensory art projects painting with kitchen materials and fruits and vegetables, decorated a giant birthday cake and talked about their likes and dislikes when it comes to food. The Giraffes topic was ‘where are you from?’ and they talked about where each person comes from, made a model of a Beefeater soldier from England, and made their own bubbles using straws and soapy water. The Kangaroos were learning about houses and homes, recreating Van Gogh’s city skyline at night and each completed a maths activity booklet throughout the week.

After the half term break we will have a big focus on festivals and holidays from around the world. In the last week of October we have Halloween and Loy Krathong celebrations. Parents are welcome to attend the Loy Krathong Fun Fair celebrations on the 30th October and see the children perform their songs and dances. Please reserve Krathongs by the attached link to decorate with you child to float in the swimming pool and dress appropriately for the event in traditional Thai dress to join our fun activities in the morning. On the 29th October please dress the children in Halloween fancy dress and we will have lots of fun activities at school.

Thanks everyone and have a wonderful week.
